Launching of “Political Barometer” Public opinion survey June, 2014

This event was moderated by Mr. Ejaz Haider a senior journalist, where Executive Director of SDPI Dr. Abid Suleri, Deputy Director Dr. Vaqar Ahmed and Shakeel Ramay shared the key findings of this survey to the audience.

Only 10% respondents saw Sharif as an effective executive, according to an opinion survey after a one year performance of government.  Most of the respondents believe that relation between the government and judiciary has improved during the time of current government but on the other hand relations with military have been getting worst.

Electricity shortages remained the major hurdle for an economic bounce back.  The government announced an determined energy policy raising tariffs and reducing untargeted subsides. But electricity theft and inefficient power distribution companies remained unresolved problems.

This survey takes into account a variety of income groups and educational levels, including those pertaining to gender, ethnicity, age and rural-urban divide.
